This collection of poems, pictures, and essays was invited through an open call to contribute to a “digital grief zine” that we imagined could support us emotionally and practically as we all experiment with digitally withdrawing, no matter what our reasons.
Of course our digital echoes and shadows speak through poems and pictures. We also gathered, in collaboration with the Digital Security Collective, a set of practical resources to help you, your loved ones, and your community reduce your digital footprints and build trust together.
Wherever you are on your journey, this zine offers something for you. Most of all, we hope that through sharing grief around the many layers of loss happening all at once, we can all be inspired to seek joy through creating art together.
As the old proverb goes, “Grief shared is halved; joy shared is doubled.”
